DJ mixes update

Hadn’t realised that the DJ mixes page was very out of date! Due to only having a free account on Soundcloud a lot of the early Control Unit Mixes have been taken down and therefore were unavailable to listen to here on the blog.

Not to worry I have just updated the whole page now all with working links. Thanks to Mezerik for the hosting of the mixes. You will also find there are a load of new mixes that weren’t previously available to listen to on the blog. Control Units 6 through to 9 are now listed as well as some bonus mixes.

Just click on the DJ mixes tab to go to the page and download or listen to the mixes.

Techno legend – Jeff Mills

For me Jeff Mills was one of the biggest influences on my taste in music today. My mate, Bob used to have a wicked DJ set on tape and we used to drive round Brighton blasting out Jeff Mills from his old Volvo. This was my first introduction to techno.

This was back in the late 90′s sometime, I remember bunking off my crappy job at a cd factory by purposely watching the minibus drive away, while I was stood at the bottom of the hill. Oh well I missed the bus – I then proceeded to spend my entire weeks wages on every Jeff Mills release I could get hold of. Went back home and spent the night on the decks in a haze of smoke blasting out all the axis releases I had purchased.

Jeff Mills has always remained one of my favourite artists check out this interview at Juno where he talks about some of his projects past and new.
